We are looking for a passionate and talented Senior IoT Cloud Engineer who wants to join our team of engineers, take ownership and be part from the early stages of a well-funded and innovative FoodTech company with potential to disrupt the industry and make an impact on people’s lives.

With our connected sensors, the garden mimics and controls the perfect environment for plants growth and communicates with users over an app to let them know if the plants need anything.
Your primarily responsibility will be on implementing cloud infrastructure for our IoT enabled Smart Gardens and Big Data Analytics to support the growth of our exciting products globally. You will also have responsibility for the technical direction, documentation, planning and development of our cloud architecture and data pipelines for data-driven dashboard solutions.
A great team is essential for us. You’ll be working closely with the founders and our team of engineers and plants scientists to present your ideas, discuss next steps and make sure your work is aligned with the broader picture. It’s not so important that you know it all (we don’t), but that you are willing to learn, have the curiosity and hands-on attitude to get things done. Although we are pretty hands-on, we don’t take ourselves too serious. We enjoy and love what we do!
Responsibilities and Duties
• Design, analyse and implement cloud infrastructure, big data analytics and tools required for product development (AWS based)• Lead a team of hardware and software engineers to take the back-end systems to the next level and make it ready for scaling globally• Turn ideas into practical, user-friendly and scalable solutions• Oversee, outline and write appropriate documentation while developing the systems together with the team• Manage product pipeline and development• Liaise with external service providers and partners• Implement, debug and optimize code• Participate with suggestions and feedback as well as generating ideas for new functionalities and features.• Commit to high-speed iterations and continuous improvement (reviews, automated testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment).• Share knowledge and help colleagues
Qualifications and Skills
• 4 year’s minimum experience as a Developer / SysAdmin• At least 2+ years’ experience of AWS could architecting• BSc. degree (2:1) or better (preferably in computer science or a related subject)• AWS Certified Architect or AWS Certified Developer• Proven experience to write reliable, resilient, performant and well-tested code• Experience with high scale IoT solutions• Good knowledge of MQTT, HTTPS protocols• Enterprise level experience with AWS services: S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, IoT Core, RDB• Familiar with implementing device lifecycles• Excellent problem solving and debugging skills• Previous experience with device certifications• Knowledge of secure IoT systems• Ability to write well formatted documentation which can be used by other team members and engineers• Quick and creative problem solving ability• Flexible and able to oversee, handle and manage own tasks and the tasks of the team• Create and maintain high quality documentation• You will have a do-all-it-takes attitude
• Previous work on CleanTech/Sustainability projects• Knows and loves the start-up environment• Experience in negotiating with suppliers and third party service providers
